"Armproject" Open Joint Stock Company is the successor of the "Armstateproject" state institution, which had been founded back in 1955. The shareholders are 450 employees from among the staff of the former institution, due to the high qualifications of which the acquired tradition of development of multidisciplinary projects in the field of urban planning and architecture are still preserved.
Having an extensive experience of creative achievements, such as the building of the Government House No 2, the complex of buildings of the National Academy of Sciences and State University, the Memorial to the Armenian Genocide, the "Zvartnots" airport, the "Hrazdan" stadium, the sports and concert complex named after K. Demirchyan in Yerevan, the building of Drama Theater in Gyumri, numerous residential facilities both in the capital, and in all the cities of the country, and most notably, the master plans for almost all urban communities of Armenia, "Armproject" OJSC continues to be the the only self-contained design organization, capable of providing integrated design across the entire spectrum of urban development, residential and civil facilities. To achieve its goals Armproject has two urban planning departments, seven architectural design bureaus, five structural design offices, and seven specialized engineering departments, as well as an innovation center for the development and implementation of building construction technologies, and other technical support departments.
All the above listed departments, bureaus and offices are staffed with highly qualified specialists, including four honorary architects of the Republic, nine holders of State awards in the field of urban planning and architecture, many of them having degrees or qualifications of professors or associate professors are engaged in teaching at the State University of Architecture and Construction. Along with this "Armproject", if necessary and on contractual basis, cooperates and provides professional services to other design organizations or other companies. The creative potential and degree of qualifications of “Armproject” is confirmed not only by Government letters of commendation and the number of prizes, won in open architectural competitions in different years, but by the fact that three of the number of significant objects, designed, completed and implemented over the past decade, have been awarded the highest state awards -State Award in the field of Urban Development (General resettlement project of the Republic of Armenia in 2009), (The project of the Medical Center in Vanadzor, Lori Marz, RA in 2017) and the State Award in the field of Architecture (Administrative and governance complex of RA Ministry of Defense in Yerevan in 2009).
